Their own birthday gets cards from everybody. The day they brought the animal home gets nothing, and they notice both of those facts.

A gift about the dog, on the dog day, is not a stretch. It is the only correct subject, which takes the guesswork out of the whole thing.

Two portraits come back in about fifteen seconds and cost nothing. Real is the closest to the photo. Figurine turns them into a little collectible toy on a display base.

The 3D is built after you order and takes a few minutes. Then you send the link, and the date takes care of itself.

The photo is on the front of each card. Tap it and the 3D takes its place. Nothing here was cleaned up by hand afterwards, so what you see is what the pipeline produced.

I do not know the exact date
The gift page does not print a date unless you write one into the message. Send it on the day you think it was, or on the day you happen to be thinking of them.
The only photo I have is bad
Upload it anyway. The two portraits are free and come first, so you find out how it looks before you spend anything. A cropped animal and very dark fur are the two hardest cases.
They have two rescues
One dearling is one animal. If the house has two, pick the one they talk about most, or send a dearling for each from its own photo.
Is this a novelty
It is a small 3D model of their animal that they can stand on a real table and photograph. Whether that counts as a novelty depends entirely on how they feel about the animal, and you already know the answer.

The anniversary of the day someone brought their rescue home. Plenty of people mark it and almost nobody receives a gift for it, which is what makes it worth using.
How fast is it?
Two portraits in about fifteen seconds, then a few minutes to build the 3D after you order. Nothing is posted, so there is no delivery date to miss and no cut off to beat.
Does it work for cats?
Yes, dogs and cats both. A sitting cat photographed at their eye level rather than from above builds particularly well.
What do they actually get?
A private link. Their animal turning on the page, your message under it, a button that stands the pet on a real table through the camera, and a card they can print at home.
Do they need an account?
No account and no app. It opens in the browser they already use, on iPhone or Android, which means the gift works the first time instead of becoming a small task.
