Before you buy
Last updated 24 August 2026
You see it before you pay
You upload one photo and about fifteen seconds later there are two portraits of that pet on the screen, one for each look. They cost nothing and they arrive before any payment step.
That is the whole design of this. The thing most likely to disappoint you is the likeness, so the likeness is the thing we show you first. Nobody buys a dearling without having looked at their own animal.
If the portraits are not them, close the tab. You have spent nothing and we have not asked you for a card.
What is free and what is not
The two portraits are free. They are pictures, flat, the kind of thing you could screenshot.
The dearling is what you pay for: the little 3D one that turns, that stands on a real table through the phone camera, and that stands up out of the printed card. It is built after you order, because building it is the expensive part.
We say this plainly so that nobody reaches the pay screen expecting the 3D to already exist.
We flag a bad photo before the money, not after
We look at the photo when it arrives. If we can only see part of the animal, if there are two pets in the frame, if the shot is soft, or if we cannot find a pet at all, the next screen says so in plain words.
You then decide what to do while the price is still nothing. Most disappointment in this product traces back to a photo that was cropped at the shoulders, and that is a five second problem to catch early and an impossible one to fix later.
Once the build starts, the order is final
Ordering starts the build immediately. Machines run, the computing is paid for the moment it happens, and none of it can be handed back. So an order is final from that point, and there is no change of mind window.
We would rather write that here, in the place you would look for it, than bury it in small print after you have paid. It is also the honest trade for showing you the likeness for nothing beforehand. One of those two things has to give, and we chose this one.
If the build fails, you get the money back
That rule stops where our failure starts. If the build breaks and no gift ever reaches you, we refund the full amount. You do not have to ask, argue or fill anything in.
The order screen tells you when this has happened rather than leaving you watching a bar that is not moving. Paddle takes the payment on our behalf, so the money goes back the way it came and the confirmation comes from them.
If the dearling comes out wrong, we build it again
This is the part that matters. If what comes back is not the pet you were shown, or the model is broken, tell us and we run it again. We do not ask you to argue for it and we do not send you a form.
We are not putting a number on that here, because a promise of two rebuilds would be a rule to hide behind. The commitment is simpler: we would rather spend the computing than have you send a gift you are embarrassed by.
What we cannot do is change the animal. If the photo cut off the back legs, the back legs were guessed, and building it again will guess them a second time. Start from a better photo instead, and we will tell you when that is the answer.
Worth checking before you order
The whole animal is in the photo, head to paws, and it is really them in the portrait you picked.
The name is spelled the way they spell it, and the message reads the way you want it read, because it is printed under the pet on the page.
If it is a memorial, choose In memory. The page then opens quietly, with no confetti and none of the celebration wording.
You have a way to send a link to the person it is for. A dearling arrives as a link and nothing is posted to anyone.
How to reach us
A support address is being set up and will be printed on this page when it is live. Until then this is a gap, and naming it seems better than printing an address nobody is reading.
These pages are written in plain English on purpose, and they are new. If anything here reads as unclear, or as unfair to you, tell us and we will change the wording.
